Kids in Glass Houses - 10.07.24 - The Wedgewood Rooms

I can confirm … that Kids in Glass Houses (KIGH) did get the band back together last year, and they are truly better than ever.

“I know we played our last ever show 10 years ago here … well we lied” - Aled

Well, we started off strong by stating the obvious. I wasn’t at that last gig, and I regret missing it. - I wish I could tell younger cydnee that you will get to see KIGH again touring, and bring out a new album and perform better than ever. It has to be given that they are a solid unit when it comes to performing and giving it their all. The gig was well-planned and played to a top-tier level. They brought the energy that made sure the vibes were phenomenal.

KIGH were definitely up against the grid on Wednesday as they went on about halfway through the England Euro match. Now, I’m not a football fan, but even I know that it was a big deal and a little bit of salt in the wound, especially as Wales doesn’t play in the Euro??? but Scotland do?? Don’t quote your girl on this. It’s what a very loud Pompey man mansplained to me while I was getting ready to take photos. KIGH did take it in their stride, making sure to check the score after every song .. once again, not football girlie, so it did get a little tedious but oh well. It added to the whole night.

This evening makes me even more excited about their upcoming album. Something really important to me as a fan for over a decade is that they have come back together and are making a new album. I didn’t think that would ever happen. I’m excited to be able to say that I haven’t heard all the music of one of my favourite bands… yet, and that’s really special.

P.S. I would like to start a petition to make Aled the new face of the Pinterest search: Rockstar aesthetic. Please see the photos below as my evidence.
